Publication Ethics

Tourism: An International Interdisciplinary Journal fully adheres to the ethical guidelines for research and publication described in the Guidelines on Good Publication (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines) and Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (joint statement by COPE, DOAJ, WAME, and OASPA; http://doaj.org/bestpractice).

Tourism: An International Interdisciplinary Journal publishes exclusively original work which has been prepared according to highest ethical research standards. The Journal has zero-tolerance towards unethical researcher behaviors which involve plagiarism, data falsification, paper slicing, and other practices violating generally accepted ethical principles and standards in scholarly research.

Before entering the peer-review process, all submissions to the Journal are checked for plagiarism using the Crossref Similarity Check by iThenticate.

The editor-in-chief is responsible for investigating all alleged unethical practices. In case of potential academic misconduct, identified by the editors, reviewers or any other party, the editor-in-chief will contact involved authors and ask for clarification. In case of confirmed misconduct, the editor will contact all involved parties, including the ethics board or similar body of the authors’ institution. If academic misconduct is detected prior to publication, manuscripts are rejected immediately. If misconduct is detected upon publication, articles are retracted with a retraction note published in the next issue.
