Tourism: An International Interdisciplinary Journal is an open-access quarterly journal with a long and distinguished tradition in publishing research on contemporary tourism issues. As one of the world’s oldest tourism journals, published regularly since 1953, Tourism provides an international forum for rigorous and relevant scholarship on travel and tourism in its many economic, social, cultural, environmental, managerial, geographical, political and technological dimensions.
The Journal welcomes original conceptual, empirical, methodological and critical review contributions that advance understanding of tourism through an interdisciplinary lens. It particularly encourages submissions that critically engage with existing knowledge, address emerging issues and transformations in tourism, and generate insights of interest beyond a single disciplinary or national context. Papers should offer a clear scholarly contribution, whether theoretical, methodological or practical, and should speak to an international readership of academics, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners.
Tourism values research that bridges disciplines, connects different levels of analysis, and helps explain tourism as a complex and evolving phenomenon. The Journal is open to diverse perspectives, approaches and methods, provided that submissions demonstrate analytical rigor, conceptual clarity and wider relevance for tourism scholarship and practice. All manuscripts are subject to double-anonymous peer review.

The Journal fully adheres to the ethical guidelines for research and publication described in the Guidelines on Good Publication (http://publicationethics.org/resources/guidelines) and Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (joint statement by COPE, DOAJ, WAME, and OASPA; http://doaj.org/bestpractice).
Manuscripts submitted to the Journal can be processed quickly if they are prepared according to the Guide for Authors. Before submitting to the Journal, prospective contributors should study the guide in detail. In case of any other inquiries, which are not covered by the Guide for Authors, please contact Josip Mikulić, the Editor-in-Chief, via josip.mikulic@iztzg.hr.
