Community4Tourism Kick-off Meeting in Rome Advances Sustainable Tourism Goals

On April 10th and 11th, 2024, Rome hosted the Community4Tourism kick-off meeting, a pivotal event in advancing sustainable tourism objectives. Community4Tourism, a key contributor to the Sustainable Tourism Mission of the Interreg Euro-MED programme, focuses on enhancing coordination and institutional capacity to foster greener, smarter, and more resilient tourism practices.

The project emphasizes the reuse of results and best practices from various projects, facilitating the transfer of successful initiatives and enhancing coordination among stakeholders committed to tourism governance and territorial cooperation. Community4Tourism is dedicated to consolidating a competitive innovation ecosystem, promoting a circular economy, facilitating climate change adaptation, safeguarding nature, and biodiversity, and contributing to the transition towards a climate-neutral and resilient society.

During the kick-off meeting, NaTour4CChange, a thematic project of the MED Cluster, was presented by project coordinator Izidora Marković Vukadin (PhD, Institute for Tourism) as part of the community. The presentation highlighted the project's role in advancing sustainable tourism practices within the Community4Tourism framework. Our partners from Plan Bleu, CPMR, and the Andalusia Ministry of Tourism actively participated in this collaborative effort towards promoting sustainable tourism practices in the Mediterranean Region and beyond
