The Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts (HAZU), through its Scientific Council for Tourism and Space, has accepted the invitation of the University of Zadar and the Institute for Tourism to co-organise the international scientific conference “(Co)Existence: with Tourism Beyond Sustainability?”, which will be held in Zadar from 21 to 24 April 2027. The conference is conceived as an international transdisciplinary forum for critically reflecting on contemporary challenges in tourism development, with a particular focus on sustainability, spatial management, climate change, social justice, and the relationship between tourism and local communities.

The keynote speakers are Stefan Gössling (Linnaeus University, Sweden), Stephen Pratt (University of Central Florida, USA), Melanie Smith (Budapest Business University, Hungary), and Josip Mikulić (University of Zagreb, Croatia).

The moderator of the closing keynote panel will be Prof. Larry Dwyer.
