An employee of the Institute for Tourism, Vedran Milojica, Ph.D. participated in the 15th International Scientific Conference “Region, Entrepreneurship, Development” (RED 2026) which was held from 23 to 24 April 2026 in Osijek (Republic of Croatia).
At the conference, he presented a scientific paper entitled “Perceptions, Preferences, and Travel Intentions of Foreign Tourists toward Cosmetic Surgery Services in Kvarner”, co-authored with Romina Alkier Tomić, Ph.D., Full Professor from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Rijeka, Republic of Croatia, and Jasmina Okičić, Ph.D., Full Professor from the Faculty of Economics, University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The article represents the result of a scientific research project entitled “Perception of Kvarner as a tourist destination of beauty and health” financed by the University of Rijeka. The authors analyse the perception, preferences, and intentions of foreign tourists regarding travel for cosmetic surgery in Kvarner, which is seen as a new and promising medical tourism destination.
