Jasenka Kranjčević, PhD, will give a lecture entitled “Architecture and Construction as a Link Between Croatia and the Czech Republic” on Monday, 25 May 2026, starting at 11:45 a.m. in the Karel and Josef Čapek Lecture Hall A-118 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, organized by the Department of Czech Language and Literature.
Alongside the lecture, the exhibition “The Work of Czech Builders, Architects and Civil Engineers in Croatia”, authored by Dr. Jasenka Kranjčević, PhD, will also be presented. The exhibition features 18 panels and the work of 32 architects, and will be on display from 23 to 28 May in the Library Hall, and from 29 May to 5 June in the Faculty Hall at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb.
Dr. Jasenka Kranjčević, PhD, is the author of the book “Lexicon of Builders, Architects and Civil Engineers from the Czech Republic in Croatia” and two exhibitions created as a result of many years of research conducted within four scientific research projects since 2013.
In her lecture, she will present research findings on architects and engineers born in the Czech Republic who worked in Croatia from the late 18th to the mid-20th century. In addition to biographical information, archival materials and photographs of buildings still in use today will be presented. Participants will gain a deeper insight into the exhibition content and will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition.
