Dr Filip Ložek and Dr Luka Valožić installed a weather station in Komiža on the Island of Vis as part of the PACT-VIRA project.

During their visit to Island of Vis, our scientists toured numerous tourist attractions, cultural and natural heritage sites, protected areas, and geological phenomena that make this island an increasingly popular destination.

Following consultations about the place with the Mayor of town Komiža, Ivica Vitaljić, and the Executive Director of the Vis Archipelago Geopark, Lana Schmidt, PACT-VIRA project associates Dr Filip Ložek and Dr Luka Valožić deployed a meteo-station in Komiža.

The station enables continuous monitoring of meteorological parameters in the immediate vicinity of the Geopark's visitor centre (Cultural Centre Ivan Vitić), which are essential for the further implementation of scientific research within the PACT-VIRA project.

Additionally, it provides open access to meteorological data for public via the Pinova Mobile app. after installation, users need to select ‘Log in’ and enter the username iztzg and password 903147.
