Scientists from the Institute for Tourism Publish an International Paper on the Application of Behavioural Sciences in Sustainable Tourism

Researchers from the Institute for Tourism in Zagreb have published an original scientific article in the international journal Geoadria (Vol. 30, No. 2, 2025), which is indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus databases.

The authors of the paper, “Applications of Behavioural Sciences in Tourism: Spatial Insights and Policy Considerations from Croatian Coastal Cities”, are Izidora Marković Vukadin, Snježana Boranić-Živoder, and Nora Mustać. The paper explores the application of behavioural sciences in shaping local tourism policies aimed at encouraging sustainable tourist behaviour and preserving cultural heritage.

The research is based on in-depth interviews with decision-makers in the coastal cities of Zadar, Šibenik, Split, and Dubrovnik. The findings provide valuable insights for the development of sustainable tourism policies. The paper was published as part of the scientific project BihevTour, led by Snježana Boranić-Živoder.
