The Croatian Science Foundation has approved funding for two new projects from the Institute for Tourism

The Croatian Science Foundation has approved funding for two research projects by researchers at the Institute for Tourism, recognizing the significance of our work in the fields of tourism, sustainability, and climate change adaptation.

A total of 415 project proposals were submitted to the IP-2024-05 call, and funding was granted to only 100 projects, including two from our Institute:

  • Dr. Ivan Sever's project, titled "Cognitive Biases as a Source of Suboptimal Decisions in Tourism and Sustainability Issues: Understanding Biases for Better Tourism Management"
  • Dr. Izidora Marković Vukadin's project, titled "Assessing the Impact of Climate Change on Nature-Based Tourism: Developing Vulnerability and Resilience Indices for Protected Areas to Manage Adaptation Strategies"

It is worth noting that these projects are from the DHZ1 group, which encompasses the social sciences and humanities. Of only four projects funded in this group, two are from the Institute for Tourism. This is a great recognition for the Institute and underscores the relevance of our research in the social sciences.
