Travel Vloggers and Digital Nudges: New Research on Influencing Tourist Behaviour

A scientific paper has been published in the journal Academica Turistica – Tourism & Innovation Journal (Vol. 18, No. 3, 2025). The paper was developed within the project Behavioural Sciences in the Function of Tourism Management with the Aim of Sustainable Development (BIHEVTUR), funded by the NextGenerationEU programme.

The paper examines how travel vloggers can potentially influence tourist behaviour through so-called digital nudges. The analysis was conducted using content related to four Croatian coastal destinations — Dubrovnik, Split, Šibenik and Zadar — with the aim of understanding how the way information is presented in vlogs may encourage more responsible tourist behaviour.

The research contributes to a better understanding of the role of digital communication channels in shaping tourism decisions and provides insights into the possibilities of applying findings from behavioural sciences in tourism. The author of the paper is Lidija Nujić Pečenec.
