Monitoring the sustainability of tourism development within the CROSTO observatory is based on monitoring basic and additional indicators. A fundamental part of the mission of the Croatian Observatory for Sustainable Tourism is to encourage local governments and tourist boards to collect and process data on the basis of which indicators are calculated, as part of the project "Assessment of sustainable tourism practices at the existing tourism system". Monitoring the sustainability of tourism is funded by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports. Two applications have been developed, that will make it easier for those interested in the process of collecting data and calculating the necessary indicators:
- CROSTO StanApp – an application for the entry and processing the primary research data of inhabitants attitudes
- CROSTO TurApp - an application for the entry and processing the primary research data of tourists attitudes
The applications are primarily intended for CROSTO teams within the destination, and consist of a data entry module and a data processing module.
