Institute for Tourism Marks World Book Day

Institute for Tourism joined the celebration of World Book Day and Croatian Book Day on April 23, 2026, through its publications produced as a result of scientific research conducted in 2025.

Zrinka Marušić presented the longitudinal research Tomas – Attitudes and Expenditure of Tourists in Croatia, which has been carried out in Croatia since 1987 with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Croatian National Tourist Board. The research results are published in several publications (https://iztzg.hr/hr/projekti/tomas-istrazivanja/).

Matina Gjurašić presented the scientific journal Tourism as the second oldest scientific journal on tourism in the world (https://hrcak.srce.hr/en/Tourism).

Jasenka Kranjčević presented her authored book Lexicon of Builders, Architects and Civil Engineers from the Czech Lands in Croatia, published in co-publishing with Srednja Europa.

Nikolina Raguž-Lučić from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, presented the edited e-book Activating Cultural Heritage and Rural Planning.

Izidora Marković Vukadin presented the published international edited book Tourism in a VUCA World (https://www.emerald.com/books/edited-volume/17340/Tourism-in-a-VUCA-World-Managing-the-Future-of) and announced the upcoming publication Sustainable and Symbiotic Destination Management: Navigating Climate Change (currently in press).

The event was moderated by Danijela Unić, Head of the Institute’s Library, and the audience was also addressed by Marta Agičić from Srednja Europa.
