Dr. sc. Matina Gjurašić, Research Associate at the Institute for Tourism, participated in the Hotel Summit – Executives Only conference, held from 14 to 16 October at the Valamar Lacroma Hotel in Dubrovnik.
She moderated a conversation with Miriam Dierks entitled “Future of Cleaning: Greenwashing vs. Sustainable Solutions”, focusing on sustainable practices in hotel operations, operational efficiency, and guest experience.
Particular emphasis was placed on Directive (EU) 2024/825 on empowering consumers for the green transition (EmpCo) and the importance of clear and verifiable environmental claims.
The discussion explored how sustainability commitments can be translated into tangible changes that reduce environmental impact, support profitability, and enhance the guest experience.
