Study visit of winemakers from Western Herzegovina to Croatia

As part of the European Union project “Technical Assistance for Promoting Sustainable Destination Management in West Herzegovina based on the Herzegovina Wine Route, Bosnia and Herzegovina,” jointly implemented by the Institute for Tourism in Zagreb and the University of Mostar, winemakers from Western Herzegovina and representatives of the Municipality of Čitluk participated in a study visit to Croatia from 12 to 15 November 2025.

The aim of the visit was to explore best practices in the development of wine tourism, sustainable destination management, and enhancing the quality of wine offerings.

During their stay, participants visited several prominent Croatian wineries and wine tourism destinations:

  • Baraka Winery, Šibenik
  • Damjanić Winery, Poreč
  • Rossi Winery and Distillery, Vižinada
  • Bertoša Winery, Motovun

The participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences with their hosts, learn about innovative approaches to wine presentation, and explore various models of tourism development based on wine routes.
