Dr. Izidora Marković Vukadin gave an interview to Poslovni dnevnik regarding tourism and climate change

Dr. Izidora Marković Vukadin gave an interview to Poslovni dnevnik about climate change, highlighting its future impact on tourism demand. She emphasized that, thanks to its moderate climate, Croatia will not experience the same decline in demand as other southern countries. However, climate change will lead to increased tourism demand in spring and autumn, while summer months may become less attractive to tourists.

She added that adapting the tourism offer by developing sectors like cultural, rural, health, and eco-tourism, along with focusing on sustainable infrastructure, is key. To implement these climate adaptation measures, it is essential to raise awareness among hoteliers and service providers and invest in sustainable and energy-efficient facilities. Although awareness in Croatia is still insufficient, it is gradually improving through various projects, including the Institute for Tourism's COMMITMENT project.
