This study was published within the MarketMakers project, supported by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the consortium Helvetas and Kolektiv d.o.o. in B&H. Building on relevant, representative and reliable secondary information sources, the Study has explored in detail the behavior of tourists when choosing travel destinations. Analyzed are: data on how tourists choose travel destination, which factors influence the choice of destination - including tourist preferences, what they expect from a tourist offer in the destination, how they book a trip, whom they travel with, how often they travel, what kind of accommodation they choose etc. The analysis included foreign markets important for incoming tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A total of 20 foreign markets were analyzed, thirteen European (Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Italy, Poland, Germany, France, Great Britain, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Spain and Ireland), four Middle East markets (Turkey, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait) and three long-haul markets (China, the Republic of Korea and the United States). The study also provides basic recommendations for the development and promotion of tourist products for each particular market.
