The Strategy encompasses three broad sections covering an analysis of the internal and external environments, tourism vision, goals and development concept, as well as implementation activities. Based on 'balanced development' as a desirable tourism development scenario on Island Krk, the vision statement emphasizes operations throughout most of the year, diversification of target segments and tourism products, large variety of services and family owned businesses as points of differentiation and the position of Island Krk as the 'sustainability champion'. The Action Plan includes 25 measures encompassing: improvement of guest experiences, development of accommodation and food and beverage services, increasing visitor mobility and strengthening of organizational structure in tourism. A more detailed elaboration of ten projects, each contributing to the repositioning of Island Krk, is provided: 1) Tourism carrying capacity of Island Krk, 2) Development and protection of the central island area, 3) Sustainable tourism practices, 4) Development of health tourism, 5) Development and transformation of family owned accommodations, 6) Integrated Island eco-museum, 7) Krk beaches, 8) Krk trails system, 9) Development concept of the Voz-Peškera tourism zone, 10) Island communication system.
